Birds born in a cage think flying is an illness

Image
...and why not? The evolution of human beings took so much time just on the basis of the received wisdom, that they were afraid of accepting CHANGE or acclimatisation. A mind preoccupied with fear from thunderstruck at night, howls of beasts nearby and the fearsome sight of the fire was too hard to be convinced to accept the change , and which is why evolution of human being (as i concur) was prolonged process. This quote is reminiscent of that evolution. Men were confined in their sense of fear, and therefore they were unable to acclimatize to the new surroundings posing as threat to their long-held superstitions. The cavemen never took the trouble of coming out of their hideouts at nights filled with spooky sounds of thunders/wolves/lions or wild animals. And when they mustered up courage, tried to evolve with the things around, they learnt that many things or beliefs they were so blithely held up were counterfactual credo. So, they busted many myths later through the ...

Writing - Should I pursue online creative writing course?

Image
If the ability to write creatively were possible through courses, the world would rather have become the hub of institutes imparting knowledge on creative writing skills. Can’t deny the veracity of some institutes though, but if you ask me I never went for online creative writing course, or will not do so in future as well.  Why?  To my empirical insight, writing is more  ‘application of your thought in the fashion that is semantically unique’   than  ‘application of an imposed thought-pattern that is semantically artificial and sometimes an esoteric imposition’ .  This is why the world is fraught with  countless writers bereft of distinctive flair in writing , but very few (finger-countable) ones who are truly gifted in their niche. As self-explanatory as it seems, success kisses the latter while oblivion is the reward of the former . You will, if you Google down your query, receive deluge of pros and cons discourses arguing whether or n...

The Power of Bravery Wearing the Disguise Of Simplicity

Image
Call it my all-time favourite lullaby, or childhood ignorance of the wisdom of the words (when granny preached me the devoutness of simplicity in her usual expansive definition), my recent encounter with a rather scornful, unintended and possibly unprecedented event factored in me the generation of somewhat new-fangled ideology in a definition bearing close proximity to brute versus civility or brawn versus brawl kind of occurrence. I was raised in a family with impressively well-off atavistic personality legacy. My great-grandpa was a landlord of more than 1000 acres of land parcels in those eras where landlord system prevailed in the then British-ruled India. Even today, my personal assets combined by the ancestral properties amount to incalculable assets, post distribution into great-grandpa’s three sons, and thence to my father and his two kin brothers. Genetically, I carry an air of steely personality verisimilitude of my grandfather’s, an ancestral leg...

Independence Day 2015 – Some Flashbacks Some Lessons

Time : 09.13 AM, Noida, India Was awaken from the reverie only to hear shouts being raised in a voice that seemed like coming from the mouth of children caught up in usual scuffle over something.  Driven to curiosity, I leaned from the window of my flat, and what I saw was the spectacular sight of large procession of school kids flowing down the street alleys like the streams of calm river. All of 'em' raising slogans of national anthem and singing patriotic songs in unison. The kids queued up in formation of large procession carrying tricoloured flags, chanting in chorus "Sare jaha se acha Hindustan hamara, Vande Mataram" . Visibly excited, the kids were shouting out slogans of national anthem, hailing brave martyrs and Mr. Gandhi. From the window of my home on top floor of this 3-storied apartment building, the procession of school kids clad in the disguise of traditional attire, holding national flag in one hand and using other in clinched fist i...

The Privileges I Enjoy With Being A Writer

Image
Some beautiful privileges that I truly enjoy with being a writer stand as follow: I enjoy the beauty of expressing myself, this is something that I find totally irreplaceable creativity of mine. I enjoy the beauty of maximizing vocabulary I'd so time-intensively stockpiled during my school and college days. So far, I have none recourse to leverage on the same, but my writing. I wholeheartedly enjoy the beauty of immersing myself with semantic world. In fact, writing so far been the single recourse that prompted me read books, keep a concise dictionary by Oxford or a book on every short/long-haul journey. I enjoy the beauty of getting inspired from fellow writers, especially those with exceptionality in the niche, those with madly in love with writing, those whose oxygen contains major particles of writing-fixated-affinity when transpired (whose writing is not necessarily a commercially objectified dream). I enjoy the privilege of enhancing the scale of my vocabulary th...

Ten Errant Behaviors You Better Not Show Off On FB

Image
In order to help you better understand how you can avert being possibly a clown-like dumb figure in the eyes of your Facebook friends, I have narrated few key points in the following manners: 1. Sorely Bullshitter If you are given to the temperament of shooting the breeze or splitting hair, or even attempt to blurt out anything tantamount to disregarding your own words, quit this habit on Facebook and on your real life, too. It’s unacceptable. This is not because you should discipline yourself for others, this is because there are or must be certain code of conducts and speaking manner on Facebook. While stupid gossips or senseless diatribe about your neighbour’s new dog/car may humour you or few of the like-minded friends for a while, it is still considered anti—social, dumb-witted, insensitive FB behavior. 2. The Slappable Pervert Facebook has give you the access to millions of global friends. It has given you a free-able opportunity to hang around w...
