Satya Nadella: The New FACE of Microsoft

Satya Nadella
"I truly believe that each of us must find meaning in our work. The best work happens when you know that it's not just work, but something that will improve other people's lives. This is the opportunity that drives each of us at this company."Satya Nadella

“During this time of transformation, there is no better person to lead Microsoft than Satya Nadella. Satya is a proven leader with hard-core engineering skills, business vision and the ability to bring people together. His vision for how technology will be used and experienced around the world is exactly what Microsoft needs as the company enters its next chapter of expanded product innovation and growth.” Bill Gates

The history was re-scripted, almost taking the world by storm, when an Indian born national with well-read family background and a vision-driven, technology-familiar bespectacled virtuoso became the CEO of giant, Microsoft, replacing predecessor, Steve Balmer, hence becoming the new face of this USA based Multinational Corporation.

It may or may not be the subjective analysis of the worldwide bloggers to dig up information about Mr. Satya as to how come an Indian being CEO of such a globally successful company, but for me, it is.

First of all, let me clarify that I am sincerely beatific to see an Indian chairing such an honorable portfolio that has not brought forth heavily weighed responsibilities (he’s reported to lead MS worldwide to bring in unprecedented transformational change), but also pride and honor, not for him and his family, but for the entire nation where he was born and raised (Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India in a Telugu family).

Background: Mr. Satya Nadella was born in the capital (also the largest) city of India’s Hyderabad in Telugu speaking family. Later, this BS, MSCS, MBA educated genius joined Sun Microsystems and then to Microsoft in 1992, where his vision-driven approach, profound insight to Cloud Infrastructure and long-term stay with multifarious job profiles have eventually fructified his long-nourished dream to become CEO of the Corporation that he joined and served so well since 22 years.

The Power-Points behind the Success:

Constant improvement on academic fronts How many of you and all have ever considered prudently and pensively pursuing education more and more? Perhaps, one of the biggest reasons for unsuccessful and unrewarding career of most corporate individuals is that they are lack of passion to improve themselves more on academic fronts, they fail to educate themselves more. However, Satya continued with the passion of empowering himself academically.

He knew his skill and believed in it: Mr. Satya is said to have profound insight to every aspect of technology related to a product or a service he’s supervising. He was entirely focused and knew well of every technology detail in such applauded dedication and keenness that honed his decision making characteristic into an astute and insightful personality.

Tough YET Composed: Mr Satya is not those individuals, who lose temper on being provoked by constant vilification, insult and criticize; rather he was a man of deeply composed personality yet knew that every decision that he makes counts, which made him serious to make the right choices while being oblivious to futile criticism and vilification.

"We do not want to see a continuation of the existing direction for the business, so it will be important that Mr Nadella be free to make changes,'' said Nomura analyst Rick Sherlund.

As an Indian, I congratulate Mr. Satya for being CEO of Microsoft and pray that he would live up to the expectation of his predecessors, Mr. Bill Gates and Steve Balmer and millions of employees to this corporation. However, I firmly believe that he will.
